Resident Primus Jones celebrates 100th Birthday with 5 Generations

Primus Jones was born in April of 1916 in Hollis, Mississippi. He later moved to St. Louis, Missouri where he joined the U.S. Army and served from 1940-1944. He served as an usher at New Jerusalem Baptist church in St. Louis from the age of 45 to 96 and was also known for giving peppermint to the youth of the church every Sunday.

Mr. Jones was elected into Signature of Tower Road’s Prestigious Annual Hall Of Fame earlier this year. He is very proud that he has five living generations, many of which visited his Tower Road home for his 100th birthday celebration, which was catered by his son.

Five generations all came together at our facility to honor Mr. Jones, including over 100 extended family members who came from as far away as Texas, New York, and California to share in the family celebration. The festivities kicked off in our Magnolia Room with hors d’oeuvres, followed by fellowship and photos with all generations in our Rose Garden. Next was the main event, catered in our Seaside Formal Dining room where everyone dined on a variety of seafood, beef, and chicken entrees with all the trimmings. Mr. Jones was then presented with a plaque signed by the Mayor of Marietta, Georgia, stating that April 26th would be declared Primus Jones Day.

Mr. Jones lived a simple life, but as a young man went door to door checking on the elderly of his community, while helping them out however he could. Here at Signature Healthcare of Tower Road, we also believe in helping out our elders in the community. We would like to either get you back to home as soon as possible or make our facility the place you want to call home!

On behalf of all the staff at Tower Road, we would like to say congratulations on his landmark birthday. Thank you, Primus, for giving us the pleasure of serving you here at our facility.
